There is just something about beach weddings that I love, being by the water, feet in the sand and a nice cool breeze brushing by is just so soothing! It was safe to say I was looking forward to this special day.

Kira and Sean had been nothing but an absolute pleasure from the get go, normally we like to meet our couples prior to but as we didn’t get this opportunity to meet prior I meet both Kira and Sean on the day and we got along beautifully.

Hotel Realm Canberra Wedding Photo & Video, Jason & Gabrielle

Jason and Gabrielle’s wedding was like the picturesque movie, right out of Hollywood. With the beautiful quaint chapel, the mesmerising dress that Gabrielle had worn, & her adorable little daughter done up to perfection wearing an equally as perfect dress. What was even more perfect was the gorgeous bride & groom coming together to join & become an official family.

With a full day out at Canberra the elements were panning out to be what we at J’adore would classify to be the perfect wedding day weather. As we were doing our 10-hour package of both photography & videography this was exactly what we had hoped for.

Arriving at Gabrielle’s preparation location situated at Hotel Realm we were lucky enough to be provided with wide open spaces, enough to cater for the video & photo crew. And due to this spacious area we had the perfect opportunity to play around with the lighting capturing some great images. Gabrielle’s makeup was done beautifully, effortlessly enhancing her elegance, accompanied by her long dark hair she looked just like a real life princess alongside her beautiful little angel.

The chapel Jason & Gabrielle had chosen was stunning, with fairy tale like feel to it it couldn’t have suited the gorgeous couple more. The ceremony was short & sweet, before we knew it we were off to our picture locations.

We were lucky enough to go into the beautiful hinterland of Canberra, capturing the beauty of this Amazing place out in the open this made for excellent photography and videography. As we had a wide array of colours schemes to play with this made it especially fun for us to play with. What made this exit extra special was the vehicle’s used, & I’m sure you’ll get a sneak speak of these beauties by looking at our highlights video, or scrolling down to view the edited images below.

We ended up going to an array of locations like, Botanical Gardens a renowned place known as The Centre for Australian National Biodiversity Research (CANBR) includes the Australian National Herbarium. These are jointly managed by CSIRO and the Director of National Parks with strong links to the Australian National Botanic Gardens. The Herbarium, with over 1.2 million specimens, is responsible for the scientific integrity of the Gardens' plant labelling & manages the national plant name lists for Australia's botanical community. We got to play with a lot of lighting at this location in particular & get a lot of group shots, as well as those intimate moments in between.

The next location we went to was to the Old Parliament House, along the pavilion & gardens.  The Old Parliament House Gardens are located in the heart of the Parliamentary Zone on either side of Old Parliament House. The Gardens have been restored to their former glory, enhanced with the introduction of features such as seating pavilions, pergolas, rose arbours, pathways, gateways as well as the refurbishment of the tennis courts & bowling green.

Heading off to the reception area, on arrival we were greeted with the most respectable customer service at hotel Realm. This five Star Canberra wedding venue is the perfect reception for all places. Hotel Realm offers five-star luxury in a modern, sophisticated yet effortlessly beautiful environment. At the destination’s precinct, we had restaurants, bars, hair salons & various other facilities have cemented us as a preferred locale for discerning Canberra’s and visitors. Hotel realm has described themselves as being ‘A hotel that combines the finesse and flair of a boutique establishment with the capacity and professionalism of a large chain: that is the unique aesthetic they have effortlessly achieved. Located in Barton in Canberra’s beautifully planned and superbly maintained Parliamentary Zone, we are truly at the heart of the city & yet we present a wedding reception venue that can emanate a senses of intimacy and privacy.’

When the bride & groom finally arrived and were ready to make their entrance, they were granted with an applause worthy of an amazing couple!! The speeches from both sides of the both bride & groom shared were warm words of wisdom and love that you could really tell came straight from the heart. Before the formalities had been finalised, we were also presented with a speech from both the Jason & Gabrielle separately both expressing how devoted & involve they are to one another. Hearing just how much they truly loved one another brought a tear to not only my eyes, but the whole team.

It’s a wonderful thing seeing this type of love come together, as it’s two families sharing a same goal, a great future, together. Jason & Gabrielle were a great couple to work with and so down to earth, from the shooting process, right down to the editing. We here at J’adore know they will continue to share more AMAZING moments throughout there lives just like they did on their wedding day & we are very thankful to have shared in this experience with them.

Sheraton Marina Mirage Wedding photography with Michael & Olivia Foster

Being apart of a wedding company, we encounter all aspects of love, all different types of couples, with their own unique twists on what they want out of their day. Michael & Olivia was no different.

On the 23rd of April, J'adore was turning up at Chevron island on the Gold coast with our head creative director Rob and our co photographer Leanne, we knew we'd be in for a big day. As they booked our premium package, we turned up just in time to get some exceptional footage and shots. Both Michael and Olivia were close in locations as both had booked holidays houses for their stay before continuing their journey throughout the day to the Sheraton Marina Mirage, where both the ceremony and reception was being held.

First turning up to Michael’s holiday house house, we were pleasantly greeted with music, a bunch of people sitting around slowly preparing themselves, and the infectious laughter of Michaels four girls. Adjourned with navy suits that complements the suspenders  perfectly, Michaels smile was infections. The lighting in the main bedroom was perfect while the backdrop of the mirrors gave our team the advantage of slipping in some of our more creative techniques. With the three of Michael’s groomsmen helping him get ready, we were gone before we knew it heading off to our next location, his bride top be Olivia.

A five minute journey away from Michaels house, we knew our bride to be was ecstatic, as we saw her counting down the days on Facebook, the team was excited to finally be apart of her grand day. Turning up at their doorstep packed fully with our camera's and gimbal (Videography material )We were greeted by Olivia’s flamboyant and exuberant family. With her make up and hair finished along side with her two best friends and little sister, she was glowing. Quickly setting up, our photographer  started snapping away. Whilst we looked at the main bedroom, We decided to change the look around a little, taking off framed portraits and clutter, leaving a bare backdrop perfect for starting Olivia’s video. With a keen eye for detail in mind, we went straight to Olivia’s accessories. Next we were on to the topic of where to put olivia’s strapless gown. We are always aiming to find the best lighting in any location for our clients, no matter the trouble, as we are determined to perfect the images/videography, this was shown through our constant shifting our the bridesmaids gowns.

Following that, Olivia came out of the bathroom, looking exquisite, with her platinum blonde hair curled gently around her face and pined to the side, her blue eyes glittered, reeling at what was to come in the next few hours. With an incrusted Diamante band wrapping around the waist, olivia’s lace dress fitted her figure perfectly. Adjourning the look, the bridesmaids dresses were a deep navy complimenting the different hues of purple for the bouquets.

The ceremony was held at the Sheraton Marina mirage, and as the bag pipes started to play, it was queue for Olivia to start making her journey down the aisle and towards the Lagoon section located outside. The Mirage perfectly catered to the outside themed look as white flowers were centred down the middle of the aisle. At the front where Michael was waiting, white curtains were draped to the side. Throughout the ceremony our team was spot on. having two photographers and two videographers there to capture the moment, made sure that any unforeseen circumstances could be dealt with accordingly.

The photo section was a bit of an adventure in itself like always as we roamed all over the Sheraton. While not wanting to go far away for family photos. We moved the white sets with ribbon tied around to the side after the ceremony.

Next we took the couple to the beach outside. With such an easy access to all of the ammenities, it was incredibly easy for our team to get in touch with our creative side while encountering the natural elements ( Wind, Sun). Ironically it was perfect timing, as the sky lit up above us, our photographer Leanne decided to get a bit more creative using some lighting techniques to shadow the couple.

Ironically it was perfect timing, as the sky lit up above us, our photographers with J'adore for the day Leanne & Emily decided to get a bit more creative, using some lighting techniques to highlight the couple by using shadows.  She then swapped using a flash, using a different creative method perfect for any wedding album.

Forwarding ourselves to the the reception. The Mirage set the whole venue up perfectly. Starting from the glass seating arrangements easily accessible to all guests. Upon entering the two glass doors, the purple ambience was all around, creating an intimate and personal touch.

From the start to the finish of the night, everything ran smoothly for the couple and their bridal party. From Olivia’s sisters heartfelt speech where Michael stood next to her side, to the mother of the bride pulling out the big guns, literally with Superman underwear, it was a heartfelt day with many pleasant surprises within the Mirage.

We hope we could have made their day as spectacular as it was for us to be apart of.
