Summergrove Estate, Ben & Kylie's Wedding Photography & Video

Hi everybody Rob Bampton here thanks for taking a few moments to read J'adore Weddings blog. Today I will be walking you through my experience with Ben & Kylie at Summergrove Estate. J'adore was recommended to Ben by a mutual friend & from there we had decided to meet up for coffee. To me that is a good sign when the client wants to meet up it's clear that they value their wedding photography & video, this is also an important part of building that relationship we so often talk about.

For those who have read my blog before, they know how important connection to my clients is & how strong I feel making an impact on the end result. I really got along well with these guys from the moment we sat down & I instantly felt like they are my kind of people. So immediately we built that trust, we kept in touch & discussed ideas in the lead up to the wedding & had decided that we would meet up at the venue the day before the wedding to spend some time together, whilst also having a look around the venue, discuss timing etc. Although it is over a hour travel for me to get out to Summergrove Estate I think this time together is priceless.

When I saw both Ben & Kylie on the wedding morning it really was such a warm welcome, I knew it was going to be a great day. First we covered the grooms preparation, In the private villa, before heading over to the Bridal room Kylie's hair & make up was done by Tegan Woodford, her dress supplied by made with love bridal collection - The Frankie Dress, the bridesmaids didn't take long to start tearing up as they saw Kylie in her dress for the first time.

I also asked them both to read a letter they received from each other, quality audio especially letters like this are great when it comes to telling our bride & grooms love story. Summergrove Estate is one of my favourite Gold Coast Wedding venues, I really do love these all in one venues where the whole wedding from start to finish can be all in one location. One of there features is the ceremony setup, with a amazing view the hinterland.

The moments that followed at the ceremony were special to me, it really is hard to believe I get paid to be part of these amazing moments, seeing Ben's tears as his young son Harvey walk down the isle, then as he kneeled down to get a big Harvey hug, I was certainly in tears myself, I really feel that because I am feeling these emotions it helps me to capture them and retell the story through my images and video. Following Harvey was Kylie,  seeing Ben's reaction change was priceless I felt like immediately he got a burst of excitement with a tinge of nervousness, with the accompanying smile from ear to ear. It was a heartfelt ceremony & I love the thought that Harvey will be able to look back & watch each moment as we sync our multiple camera angles & professional audio which turns into a ceremonial masterpiece.

We had a 17 person bridal party which was my biggest to date & during the photos section they where ready to party that's for sure. So we got some group images before sending them back of to the bar while we stole the bride & groom for the remaining time before the ceremony, This wedding also marked the first collaboration Of myself with Dean & Karen Agar, Dean had been a long time friend & also mentor, so having him join me for the photos section was great and the results speak for themselves. Moving into the reception Ben's background in dancing showed as well as a few members of the bridal party. As everybody made their entrances with accompanied dance moves. We moved into the speeches section which was a great mix of fun, laughter & emotion.

Sooo it's time to hit the dance floor for the first dance as Kylie is waiting while Ben is talking to the DJ she realises that the song that started playing wasn't the song they had picked, following this we all see Brother Jesse and Joel move onto the dance floor followed by Ben, at this moment everybody realises what is happening as the 3 of them who have been dancing together since they where 10 started to perform a dance for Kylie. For me this moment was magical and is the reason I do what I do. In a effort to keep this secret even I didn't know this was coming but I just let the emotion of the moment flow & I flowed through a few different point of views mainly trying to keep it from Kylie's view. Then moving around to show the crowds reactions and then moved back in close to cover the intimate moment they share.

I knew this moment was special what I didn't know was the reaction it was going to receive online. After I posted this video to Facebook the reaction was AMAZING. With only a few days later having reached over 300,000 people & then being contacted by the local news channel asking for permission to use the video along with Ben & Kylie's contact information then only a few hours later hearing from them saying they just did a interview then that night seeing it appear on the news. I know this isn't about me but it really did touch me the fact that this moment had touched so many people & reading all the comments from people saying how it effected them, then seeing it on the news was magical. To add to that I was in Fiji at the time shooting a destination wedding & was already on cloud 9. Again I would love to hear from you! Please comment on our blog. Let me know what you think of the images and videos.

St Christopher’s Cathedral, Canberra - Wedding Video & Photography Marko & Jessica

We always love going back to Canberra for weddings getting to explore more of this beautiful state is always a pleasure & staying with the amazing parent of our first ever Canberra wedding Matt & Margarita who over the years have become like family to us to the point we actually call them Mum & Dad.

We arrived at the Boys nice & early ready to kick start this magical wedding. The boys helped Marko get into his suit with Dad close by to help by bringing out a bottle of Whisky he had been saving for this very moment, Marko's groomsmen where very happy & enjoyed the very expensive and smooth gift. As Mum comes in & starts fussing over her beautiful boy the family pull’s him outside to have a drink to congratulate him on his stunning soon to be bride.

When we arrived for the bride prep Jessica had picked the Barton Room at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra, she had chosen this location because of the amazing floor to ceiling windows to let in amazing natural light for us photographers. Which might I add is one of our favourite things! Now that’s what I call thoughtful, & just to top it off she even had a mannequin for her dress which made for some breath taking images. Jess didn't even mind when I went in and re decorated her room by moving all the furniture around & out of the way so we could make the most of everything this stunning room & dress had to offer.

St Christopher’s Cathedral was absolutely amazing, we have shot there before for Daniel and Angela's wedding & as I remember was just as perfect. As the ceremony went through all the traditions & readings the beautiful catholic ceremony rich with tradition & hymns ended, the church bells rang out as the couple left hand in hand filled by there bridal party & all their closest family & friends.

As the guest came up to the now Mr & Mrs Eskinja you could see in the faces of there nearest & dearest that they where so happy for this beautiful couple & there was a few cracks from the mother of the bride & groom for them to hurry up & start getting that baby making underway which as you could imagine made this blushing bride blush a little harder.

For their photo section we had plenty of time, long enough in fact to take a much deserved lunch break for the bridal party & their high heal wearing feet. This also gave the newly wed couple time to let everything that just happened sink & appreciate this precious moment in time.

I have to admit what we did next was by far one of my favourite video moments of my career so far, getting to do the mannequin challenge in their beautiful room, Jessica & I had ideas of what we should do for this great new video faze that had come out & after talking it through with the others we put our ideas into action. I’ve added the video below I hope you like our little viral sensation.

Reception starts & the formality's kick in, food comes out and the speeches begin some amazingly funny, meaningful yet sweet words from their closest friends & family. To the point where a beautiful first dance by the newlyweds, the perfect way to kick start a night full of dancing & celebration for the wonderful couples love, starting of their first night at Mr & Mrs Eskinja.

I hope you liked my little blog of Marko & Jessica's Wedding, stay tuned for there video which will be up soon.

Advancetown Wedding Photography/Video Gold Coast, Rhys & Abbey

We had such a great time shooting for Rhys and Abbey's wedding, that by the end of the night some of the crew was on a joking basis after the formalities were conducted.

As we turned up to Rhys's house we were excited as today was a full day of both photo and video. Having only three goomsmen. The first thing we did was go outside and start an epic bucks night cards game that consisted of drinking and a few punches if chosen the wrong card.

We pulled up a few blocks away from the ceremony to get some extra footage of the girls ,what I was avidly excited/surprised to see Abbey's wedding gown. As it clung to her body, the white lace elegantly collaborated with the pink underlay matching perfectly with her chosen bouquet of wild flowers. Here we got some great moving footage of the girls just joking around and being themselves, it was great to just get some natural emotion on camera, and boy it was amazing! because the girls weren't camera shy at all, which made great footage.

As we turned up at Advancetown in the hinterland of the Gold Coast, we were delighted to note that it was an outside ceremony, this makes for great lighting. It was a wide and open setting to which meant we had a lot of room to muck around with, even with all of Rhy's and Abbey's closest friends and family watching. With our tripod's set up and our groom audio'd up we were ready!

Abbey turned up in the combi van, and watching Rhy's as she descended down the aisle after her beautiful bridesmaids wearing a shade of dark grey. It was here we got to learn a little more about the couple. and it's also one of our favourite parts of any day, the vows! We got a little teary even at the whole process, and all too soon it ended with a kiss and the signing of the offical documents.

As the rest of the afternoon was setting out to be rainy with showers starting to sprinkle on consistently throughout the day, for the photo section we went to an array of different locations across the hinterland of the Gold Coast.  Our first area to play around in though was an open lake above a dam. This provided some amazing intimate shots of the couple with an amazing background showing the hues of purples and blue that a storm creates.

We then started to travel back to the reception but not before stopping at another photo section where an we had a wide an open lake to get creative with, and the rain definitely didn't deter us from getting those killer shots of this awesome couple.

The Markette was set up and everyone was in full swing of starting to the party, with a list of congratulations were being thrown around. This quickly escalated into a party game that kicked off the start of the reception. With a series of questions that the crowd had to start answering, this caused a few laughs to erupt from everyone.

Braeside,Wedding Photography/video Gold Coast, Matthew & Jenna

Matthew & Jenna first met when they were working together, with him being her boss.  Jenna had taking quite a liking to Matthew when they first met at the pub, with her persistence she won over Matthew. And still he's incredibly amazed that he gets to have Jenna as his wife.

When one of our crew members turned up at Jenna's pre getting ready place, she had her two bridesmaids and mother surrounding her with a few laughs. With a deep dark red lipstick and a dress Jenna's mother made for her; the white lace meshed effortlessly with the pink undercoat to which we rarely see!! This sleeveless dress looked exquisite on Jenna with her hair done up and curled to the side, she truly looked like a dream. Accompanying her look was the two bridesmaids of her choosing who to which wore dark maroon floor length gowns with white trimming.

Before it was time to put on the assemble of clothes first Jenna had given Matthew an entourage of gifts accompanied with a letter. It was truly a beautiful moment, as Matthew claimed he wasn't even through the first paragraph before he started to wipe tears away from his eyes. What made the gifts even more personable was the little notes attached to each seperate gift she had given him for the day. From a pair of sunnies, to the expensive watch, Matthew was over joyed. Matthew adjourned his dark blue suit with a dark red tie and a matching hanky chief  accompanying his look.  Matthew had two of his groomsmen apart of his morning ritual, to which involved a selection of gifts and Matthews dad never failing to get a laugh or two from us.

when it was time to turn up at the ceremony, We couldn't wait to see how Matthew would react when he saw Jenna for the first time, this is always one of our favourite bits about the day, the groom getting to see his future bride.

The ceremony was small yet filled with soo much love inside the chapel. One of the favourite bits from the ceremony was the little small words Matthew said to Jenna in French, that small yet thoughtful gesture was beautiful.

The photo section was filled with all of us playing outdoors, with Braeside having a wide and open venue, featuring swings, courtyards and the quirky life size chess game. With all of these small locations taking into effect, we were left spoilt with our choice of where to go with both photo and video.

One of the massive surprises that contributed to the day, was the extreme hard work Jenna's parents put into surprising her for the reception of the year!! Yes it WAS  Harry Potter themed.  Starting from the very doorway, their was a quirky sign with each guest needing to look at the the houses and table/classes they were to be assigned to. With each table having it's own class and small trinkets  centred around the middle, what made the gesture even more sentimental was the hard work Jenna's father put into carving the centre pieces around all of the reception tables.

Seeing Jenna's reaction as she walked through was amazing, she couldn't contain herself, and you couldn't fault her on that behalf. Planning a wedding in general is extremely taxing, with every detail needing to be precisely worked out, this beautiful gesture, was something I hope to see MORE of within working at weddings.

As the reception started to kick into action, their were numerous guests wanting to grab a photo with the bride and groom before everyone all ventured inside for the speeches and entree/dinner. We had an excellent selection of speeches made by the few chosen people Matt & Jenna wanted to speak at their wedding.

Throughout the rest of the wedding at night, it was spent with everyone sharing a few drinks and laughing along. The old classic songs came on over the dj system and with everyone knowing all of the words to to those certain old songs, this made for some great footage.

Tory & Bianca Wedding Photography & Video, Sanctuary Cove Chapel Ceremony & Surfers Paradise Marriott Ballroom Reception Gold Coast

Hi my name is Natarlie I am a Video editor as well as Videographer. It puts me in the unique situation of getting to not only know our couples on the day but also in the editing process, I hope you enjoy my blog about Tory and Bianca's wedding day.

Tory and Rob have been friends since high school and it's always great to have that connection and trust, Tory & Bianca have been following J'adores work for a long time and knew that it was going to be a great fit, so after getting engaged, Rob meet with them a fair few times so they could work on creating a vision for there wedding photography and video. A lot of what happens on a wedding day is documentary related so we just record what's in front of us, but what we can control is how it's recorded with a end goal in mind and it's important to us that we work closely on that.

Tory's best man who is his brother Jeb and some of the other family got ready in Tory and Bianca's House with with Tory's building skills, being converted into their dream home. The guys where very relaxed in getting ready and just couldn't wait to get the day's proceedings started.

Seeing Bianca done up from head to toe in her princess themed gown, made my heart stop so I can't be too sure on how Tory reacted, but she was just simple divine. With dimontee encrusted sleeves draped over each shoulder and long curly brown hair to match a dazzling smile, Bianca completed her look with a white bouquet and neutral natural colour dresses for her made of honour/ bridesmaid to have.

Previously shooting at Sanctuary Cove Chapel only two weeks prior to Tory & Bianca's wedding, we were lucky enough to be apart of another fun filled day at this extravagant wedding chapel complete with floor to ceiling glass windows to overlook the tranquil lifestyle of Sanctuary Cove.

While only staying at Sanctuary Cove for the ceremony, we decided to stay at this amazing venue for a bit longer as we went from an array of locations including the fountain Terrace surrounded by lush gardens and the open air Marina Lawn overlooking the Coomera River.  As it was such a great day, Rob even got the drone out to take some landscape video's of the whole venue and the couple above the waterfall at Sanctuary Cove.

Walking into the Surfers paradise Marriott Resort Hotel and Spa , it was like stepping into a whole different setting, a movie even. As you look above and notice intricately woven fan boards blowing back. This was our location for the rest of the photos and the reception. We tucked amidst the sparkling lagoons and shooting between tree's where the pool's were to get those extra creative/cool shots.

we then took it another step further by getting some glamorous shots of the couple and Bianca standing along the grand staircase, bouquet resting to the side.  As we extended our stay up into the reception area we noticed the backdrop was done elegantly and to perfection. The ballroom looked etherial as all of the candles placed around the event room made the ambiance more intimate.

A huge thank you to the event planner at the Marriot; Sarah Fraser , as the rooms were done to perfection; we had our own private section where we could edit a few images quickly to post up for Tory and Bianca as we love doing this for a our clients especially when everyone is eating at the reception and we have a bit of spare time. The rest of the guests were starting to pour in by this stage, so we were quick to decide where our tripods would be situation before the speeches were conducted. This is always a hard task as we aim to capture 100% of the speeches, but if they move we have a harder time, this fortunately didn't happen and we were treated to an accordion song played by Bianca's father. Listening to the speeches we got to learn a lot about the couple.

How they met at a party, and how one date changed everything as they kept at it, through buying a house together and then Tory finally proposing, J'adore was soo lucky to be apart of their lucky day.
