Milos & Dejana's Gold Coast/Brisbane Culture Wedding.

Getting to be apart of another wedding from the same family was truly an honour for the whole team. As we had previously done Milka's wedding earlier in the year, we were keen to get right back in the action of things. This time though, we were avidly more prepared for all of the little cultural traditions.

Serbian wedding is great tradition with a lot of interesting and symbolic “rules”.Car for every guest has to have colourful towels or blankets tied onto the car’s mirrors. The bride and groom’s car, the main and the first car in the column of all guests’ cars, is all in flowers and decorations. Also, groom’s brother carries the Serbian flag. After serving a little food and usually a lot of Rakija, they form column of cars with the bride and groom’s car in the front, and they then go to purchase the bride. All the way towards bride’s house cars from column don’t respect traffic rules and honk all the time.

We started off bright and early for the day, and as the storm was starting to set in all around the south east coat of Queensland, this didn't deter us from our main goal, to provide a spectacular day for both Milos & Dejana.

While we had two other team members taking still shots of Milos getting ready, their was another camera taking in all of the smaller key moments that were taking outside, this included all of the thankyou's that was provided by the family.

Meanwhile, at the brides house, we had two other crew members both taking photo and video for the start of the morning. This also included a few smaller traditions such as the exchanging of gifts. With the Serbian music kicking fully into action with the accordion playing on in the background, the whole entire crew was prepared for both families to meet.

much like Dejana's sisters wedding a lot of the traditions were very much the same. as when the groom arrived, their was a crowd around the front entrance of Dejana's parents entrance where more cultural notions took place, before we all knew it, it was time to take off to the ceremony.

The ceremony was in the same church as Milka, so this was a lot easier for the whole team to shoot around the venue as we had been their previously before hand. Still we made sure to get all of the small traditions that were incorporated at the Serbian church. The candles symbolise the perpetual light of Christ, and remind the couple that from now on they must shine in virtue and purity with good deeds. The rings are first blessed by the priest, who holds them in his right hand and makes the sign of the cross over the couple’s heads.

The crowns are said to represent the martyrdom, sacrifice and unwavering devotion. The priest takes the object and makes the Sign of The Cross three times over the couple. The crown is then kissed by the groom before it is placed, then the same with his bride. Then the crowns are exchanged between the heads of the couple three times.

The couple will drink wine from a chalice to symbolise that they will be sharing the happiness and sorrows of life together. They do this three times. The priest will then lead the bride and groom three times around the alter on their first steps as a married couple.

When they arrive at bride’s home groom has to use the weapon and to shoot the apple from great distance to show that he has become a men, and that he deserves a bride. Also, hitting the apple is permission for the guests to come into the yard or house. If he misses the guests join him with their weapons until they blow up the apple. When they come into the house the bride is locked in the room and groom’s brother go to negotiate with bride’s brother about the price. When groom’s brother pays for bride he walks out with her to the yard. In the yard guests can enjoy Serbian food, a lot of Rakija, and guest usually dance Serbian national dance called “Kolo”.

Then they all go to groom’s house. There bride has to throw colander full of wheat and candies on the roof of the house, and if it stays on the roof the bride is going to stay, Dejana's excellent throwing skills worked in her favour as she effortlessly threw the whole basket over landing it perfectly on the roof tops.. Wheat in the colander symbolises fertility of the bride, and candies symbolise sweat, beautiful life. Bride also has to throw little child called “Nakonjce” in the air and catch him a few times to show that she is strong enough to give a birth and raise a children. The groom carry bride into his house and she carry bread with milk and honey on it, and bottle of wine. Wine is like a gift for house, but bread symbolise that groom and bride’s marriage is going to be easy going and great combination like bread, honey, and milk.

For the photo section we went to the botanical gardens, where even the rain didn't deter us from getting some amazing and creative shots! from the cool umbrella and rain image where flash worked in our favour perfectly capturing even the raindrops, to the small intimate moments that we managed to sneak capture for this couple. The best part about shooting this couple, was the constant smiling they produced, this made our jobs simply easy, as we didn't have to move them around much ,it was just all soo natural.

It was time then to head to the reception that was in Brisbane. the Colossus Reception lounge. With a huge and wide open space that would easily be filled come the end of the formalities, this place was perfect for any big reception catering for many guests, and lets not forget to mention Dejana's style scheme! with every little detail effortlessly tied in to create an etherial look, the reception was done to perfection!

After speeches and the cake was cut, it was time to make a big wild party . Drinks like great Serbian plum homemade Rakija called “Sljivovica” were passed around to all of those who wanted. Also, there was a lot of dancing. With a saying that goes you can easily party until dawn, this could be plainly seen with this couple and all of their chosen friends and family who came together to create the best night!

The Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Wedding Venue.

The Intercontinental Sanctuary Resort is situated perfectly right outside the main touristy parts of the Gold Coast. Located a short distance from tourist mecca with a short drive to the heart of Surfers Paradise, the resort is tucked within the beautiful surroundings of Sanctuary Cove, ideal for a glamorous/rustic or beach wedding in Australia.

We've had the pleasure of shooting both photography and videography all around the Intercontinental resort, and each wedding has been completely different to the other, with a wide range of bridal parties that all had power house personalities & this amazing feel of love that each individual couple had.

One of our most recent shoots at Sanctuary Cove happened on the same day! With both a limousine entrance and then a helicopter turning up after, we have been exceptionally spoilt for choice.

The very first time we shot at Sanctuary Cove was Russ and Tiaree's wedding, and I still can't get over the beautiful moment when one of our videographers came the front of the glass chapel to find Tiaree's father waiting patiently, he had this glowing smile that still gets us all gooey.

The photo section around The intercontinental is spectacular with an array of locations all around the venue. Most of our group shots are either done in the chapel with the natural lighting playing into our favour, or right out the front with the high glass walls as our background.

Let's not forget to mention the drone is PERFECT for this venue. With an open and wide enough space to travel around the place we are always able to get new and different shots with our couples.

Our favourite section is the reflection pool, where we are always coming up with new, effective and creative ways to bring out the love around this area. One of our favourite moments is when Daniel, walks towards Karlee, picks her up and gently leans in to kiss her. With the reflection pool and the afternoon working in our favour, we were able to set up the perfect shot.

Along the steps right beside the european looking fountain, the position there is perfect for all group shots, with an etherial look to it.

Message the intercontinental today to get your quote and book this AMAZING venue!! It's a must have for your ceremony/reception AND accomodation, and why not make it easier on yourself for the big day? Amy & Jacksons Twin Towns Resort.

when the day is setting out to be perfect around the Gold Coast, our team is always excited to be apart of another wedding. This beach side wedding was going to be full of colours with the natural light and a fun crew set out to fill the day was epic moments!

As we were doing video for Jackson and Amy, we set off to Jacksons apartment by the beach in Coolangatta. The moment Jess got there with Matt our other videographer. Jackson and his crew of groomsmen were getting ready at Reflection Towers Two in Coolangatta, which made this soo much easier for the J'adore crew to plan time accordingly between the two individuals

The girls were getting ready in the penthouse at Mantra Twin Towns in Coolangatta, this set us up for some beautiful outside portraits once Amy was finished getting ready.  When you're making that commitment to say I do, you want everything to go perfectly, and how can you go wrong with an exquisite Karen Willis Holmes bridal gown? You can't it's just that simple, And Amy's sequenced dress so beautiful! First though, hair and makeup was done by Tina Kristen Weddings, to which did a superb job highlighting Amy's big beautiful blue eyes.  she complemented her looks perfectly with a Bits & Buds white bouquet.

Turning up at the ceremony, it was the perfect day for video and with Beautiful Weddings helping Amy achieve perfection on her big day, the sun played into everyones favour perfectly. This made for amazing vibrant colours throughout the whole video as their ceremony/photos section was near the beach. For Jackson & Amy's wedding ceremony, they hired the funny and enthusiastic celebrant Anne Campbell , whom conducted the ceremony/legalities with poise and elegance while also keeping the crowd hanging off of her words.

The photo section was held outside along the beachside at Coolangatta, this always excites the team, as we love playing with the natural environment, what was even better was the bridal party we had to work with. You could tell Amy picked well with her choice in brides maids as they brought the fire and energy we needed for video, this was accompanied with Jacksons funny half of groomsmen that were keeping the time we had upbeat and fun.

It was time than to head towards the reception and that was held at Twin Towns Resort Gold Coast. It's impressive location, stylish appointed romans and elegant decor perfectly complement the panoramic ocean views that around this luxury venue.

Jackson and Amy are such a sweet couple, and you can tell from the way he looks at Amy that he adores the ground she walks on, this sweet love is what we are all hoping to achieve.

Reece & Rhiannon Palmer Gold Coast.

Having gone to Reece & Rhiannon's wedding rehearsal early in the week, the J'adore team was more than keen to get stuck right in the action of things.  Their little love story first began with Reece's story and his journey to find god and therefore his bride later on. It started off in the most unlikeliest of all places, it's a beautiful moment when something changes your whole perceptions and views on the world, whether intentional or not. Reece changing his lifestyle as he allowed God to come into his world, eventually led him to Rhiannon, the love of his life. Like the beautiful fairytale, Reece met hit Bride  at Metro church, as they both have been going there for quite a considerable amount of time, you could almost say it's like their second home.

When we turned up Rhiannon place, where she was getting ready with her chosen bridesmaids, she adjourned her bridal crews look with floor length light blue brides maids gowns and their hair slightly curled to the side and done up.  We got right into the action of things, setting up both photo and video, as it was crunch time and the limo was leaving soon to go to the ceremony.

The ceremony was starting, with the music starting to play, and the gear was quickly set up with the groomsmen being lapelled to get the perfect audio, the ceremony was taking place at Palmer Gold Coast.  If you're looking for the perfect romantic outdoor wedding venue, than look no further than Palmer Gold Coast's spectacular Sandstone love heart.  Complete with an arch and a perfect photographic atmosphere for your special day with was perfect for us and video terms for the ceremony, as we had soo much space.

The boys prayed before the girls got there by thanking god for such an amazing day, by then the priest by the name of John Mac Donald whomhad showed up with both a monologue seeking both from traditional senses and more modern.

When Rhiannon came walking down the aisle she was a sight to behold, with her vintage gown swaying around the flats she accessorised with her look. After the formalities were conducted, we all took the bridal crew around the gold course area, looking over the whole site for the best photo/video! Eventually we separated the bridal party. It was a massive bridal party consisting of 10 of Reece & Rhiannon's closest friends, what was even better was they were a fun group to be around. This made the job for video a lot easier as we require live action footage. You could always count on the best man to be cracking a few jokes or two in the corner, and his speech lived up to expectations.

By dividing the crew and Reece & Rhiannon apart as we wanted to get some more close up and intimate shots of the couple, but wanted some killer bridal crew shots as well! Throughout the bit of time we had, the bridal party kept the energy up and full swinging with the bend and snap coming out to play throughout the photo section.

By the time it was almost time to head back into the reception, we took the couple aside once more  to get some Dusk shots before they had to enter the reception, still even the few minutes away from their friends didn't stop the energy buzzing as when it came time to enter the reception the emotions were up and running with the speeches!

Between crying and laughing, we couldn't seem to keep up, Reece & Rhiannon's speeches were both tasteful and hilarious with a few tears escaping when the girls got up on stage to share a few heartfelt memories. The boys brought it back home though by keeping everyone up with a few laughs and jokes about the past.

You could tell Reece adored Rhiannon, watching back at the footage of the couple, especially as Rhiannon descended down the stairs, his eyes welled up with tears, and this raw feel of emotion is amazing for videography terms, as it captures as pure moment.
