Kaitlin and Stephen’s wedding in Stanthorpe was the kind of day that reminds me why I adore what I do. From the very start, there was a sense of warmth and authenticity that only a true country celebration can bring. Their love story unfolded against the rolling hills and rustic charm of the region, with every moment feeling both spontaneous and deeply meaningful.
The day before the wedding, Kaitlin called me in a bit of a panic—her scheduled videographer had fallen sick unexpectedly. She needed someone to step in at the last minute, and I knew how important it was to capture these memories. Being able to help in a pinch and be part of such a special day is exactly why I love what I do.
The morning buzzed with excitement as Kaitlin and her bridesmaids—Hayley, Sophie, and Samantha—shared laughter and a few happy tears while getting ready. The air was filled with the scent of eucalyptus from Kaitlin’s bouquet, and the talented teams from EM Hair and One Touch Beauty Studio worked their magic, ensuring everyone looked and felt their best. Meanwhile, Stephen and his groomsmen—Salvatori, Anthony, and Michael—kept things light with banter, a few drinks, and lots of laughter.
Their ceremony at St Joseph’s Catholic Church was a truly emotional affair. There was a beautiful father-daughter first look, and not a dry eye in the house as Kaitlin made her way down the aisle to Stephen, who was visibly moved by the moment. The church’s classic country charm set the tone for their heartfelt vows and the beginning of their life together.
After the ceremony, we headed to the Steam Train Railway for some of the most magical photos of the day. As the sun set, Kaitlin and Stephen balanced on the tracks, hand in hand, surrounded by golden light and the laughter of their bridal party. Playful moments with cows in the background, classic cars in the fields, and a sense of adventure made every shot feel special. It was one of those evenings where everything just came together—the light, the love, and the countryside.
The celebration continued at the International Club, where the reception was full of energy and joy. Kaitlin and Stephen kicked things off with a choreographed first dance, swapping their heels for sneakers and filling the dance floor with pure spontaneity. Their friends and family didn’t hold back, showing off their best moves and keeping the party going all night long. Every laugh, every embrace, every song felt like a testament to the couple’s spirit and the community around them.
This wedding was a true reflection of Kaitlin and Stephen—down-to-earth, full of heart, and brimming with unforgettable moments. It was an honour to step in and capture their story, especially knowing that last-minute change of plans brought us together. Days like this are what make wedding videography so rewarding, and I’m grateful to have been part of it.
