Some wedding days stay with you long after the flowers have faded and the music has ended. Gabrielle and Jacob’s Summergrove Estate wedding is one of those days — a celebration that still feels just as meaningful years later.
Their story began on Jacob’s very first day at Student Flights, where Gabrielle was also working. Gabrielle remembers noticing Jacob’s incredible height straight away, while Jacob’s first thought was much simpler — the brown-haired girl sitting behind the desk was cute.
A few weeks later, Jacob asked Gabrielle out for lunch, choosing an Italian restaurant in a well-calculated move. For Gabrielle and her Italian family, food is everything, and Italian food especially holds a special place. It was a strong start, and one that set the tone for many meals to come.
It took a little time before their next date, something Gabrielle openly admits may have been due to her stubborn streak, but Jacob remained persistent. Once again, Italian food was involved, and over good wine and long conversations, they realised how naturally they connected, sharing similar outlooks on life and what mattered most.
As their relationship grew, so did their world together. They met each other’s families, travelled to familiar and new places, and built a home side by side. They welcomed their beautiful puppy Ellie into their lives and settled into a life that felt deeply shared.
Exactly three years after they first met, on the 22nd of February, Jacob proposed while they were holidaying in Gabrielle’s hometown, choosing one of her favourite locations for the moment. It was a day filled with excitement, emotion, and celebration with family and friends — a moment that led them to their wedding day at Summergrove Estate.
On the 15th of August, 2020, Gabrielle and Jacob were married in a ceremony surrounded by loved ones, laughter, and heartfelt moments. Watching their wedding film today offers a chance to relive not just the day itself, but the feeling of it — the anticipation, the joy, and the quiet moments in between.
Years on, their wedding video remains a beautiful reminder of where their married journey began, allowing them to return to that day whenever they wish and experience the magic all over again.
