This is a blog I had quite fun writing, as the story itself, and the people involved are quite special. On October 9th 2021, Harry and Josie tied the knot at the stunning Sol Gardens in Currumbin Valley on the Gold Coast.
Harry and Josie’s story began uniquely—on the small island of Gili T in Indonesia, where both were working as scuba instructors. With nothing but a dirt path between their dive shops, Harry often found excuses to visit Josie’s dive shop to talk to her. Their daily catch-ups at a local bar eventually grew into something more, leading to a love story that spanned oceans.
The wedding day was filled with love, laughter, and personal touches. The groomsmen looked sharp, donning COVID masks that matched their pocket squares and ties, a playful nod to the times. As the couple exchanged vows, it was hard not to be moved. Harry's heartfelt words were a beautiful reflection of his love for Josie, while Josie's painted a vivid picture of their courtship, recounting how she had known from the very beginning that Harry would be part of her life forever.
The reception was a lively celebration, filled with fun moments. The couple played games, popped champagne, and even managed to sneak in a shoey or two, with a bridesmaid and groomsman joining in on the fun. Harry’s laughter was a constant companion throughout the evening, adding to the joy of the occasion.
From their first meeting on a small island to their joyous celebration at Sol Gardens, Harry and Josie’s journey is a beautiful reminder of how love can find you in the most unexpected places.
Now, three years later, they’ve built a beautiful life together with their adorable one-year-old daughter, Billie. It feels even more special knowing our lives are now connected in such a beautiful way—Josie and my sister Kelly joined the same mothers' group after the birth of their daughters. A small world that continues to bring meaningful connections into my life.
As always, getting to be around and capture a glimpse of love in its truest expression, and documenting the beginning of these amazing people’s journeys was something I will never get tired of.
