Sydney's Lauriston House Wedding Photography for Glenn & Kim

We here at J’adore love our Sydney weddings, being one of our favourite city’s the team & I were very excited to have the opportunity to be heading back to such a gorgeous location.

Ramsey & I started with the groomsman, despite Glenn trying to send us straight off to the ladies we got some great images which I am certain looking back he will be glad we stayed. Kim did give us fair warning he may have tried to pull a fast one on us so we were will prepared to take on the challenge. Once we had explained to him that it wouldn’t take long & after taking a few shots he was well on board. Shooting the guys getting ready was quite enjoyable for myself & the team, hearing them cracking jokes & reminiscing about a crazy buck’s party & plotting their revenge against the groomsman who had put it all together. We love to see this kind of happiness amongst our clients, a huge part of why we do what we do here at J’adore. & Before Glen knew it we were done & left them to continue getting ready & bonding over memories they had all shared together.

Not long after we arrived at the Merriton in Parramatta to a stunning modern suit, with the ladies pouring Champaign accompanying the bride in the hair & makeup chair looking as gorgeous as ever. Kim looked stunning wearing her white camisole with a beautiful white throw over dressing gown with gorgeous lace details. As soon as we saw this we knew we had the perfect setting to get some great shots of Kim & the girls putting her garter on.

The room we had to shoot in was nice & tidy, with beautifully fragranced flowers along with all of her accessories needed already placed on the bed ready for our arrival. Her gorgeous dress hanging up on the lamp in the corner of the room with some beautiful light coming through the windows behind we instantly felt very confident that we would be creating some stunning images. Having this all arranged prior to our arrival made it much easier for us to get in & get the job done allowing us a little more time to get those perfect images. Instantly we got to work displaying everything so we could really capture how perfect this day was about to be.

As Kim’s kombi van had arrived to collect the beautiful bride & her bridesmaid’s we all made our way over to the magnificent all in one venue Lauriston House in Dundas Valley.

The ceremony took place outside under a gorgeous gazebo located at Lauriston house with all of their nearest & dearest in attendance soaking up the beautiful weather whilst watching this perfect moment unfold of Kim & Glen becoming Husband & wife.

After the ceremony we took some group & family photos before whisking the happy newly weds off in their gorgeous classic cars for some photos nearby Parramatta lake. This being a location Kim had previously selected & I might I just add it was stunning, the team & I were very impressed. It really was the perfect location. Whilst the couple was enjoying their first moments being Mr & Mrs you could really see the newly wed sparkle in their eyes as we began to snap away, capturing those precious interactions of them both effortlessly laughing & smiling at one another.

As they entreated the reception back at Lauriston house to the raw applause of family & friends the band began to play. Food & drinks coming out not long after the night begun without a hitch moving onto some dancing and celebratory drinking a great night was had by all.

Hotel Realm Canberra Wedding Photo & Video, Jason & Gabrielle

Jason and Gabrielle’s wedding was like the picturesque movie, right out of Hollywood. With the beautiful quaint chapel, the mesmerising dress that Gabrielle had worn, & her adorable little daughter done up to perfection wearing an equally as perfect dress. What was even more perfect was the gorgeous bride & groom coming together to join & become an official family.

With a full day out at Canberra the elements were panning out to be what we at J’adore would classify to be the perfect wedding day weather. As we were doing our 10-hour package of both photography & videography this was exactly what we had hoped for.

Arriving at Gabrielle’s preparation location situated at Hotel Realm we were lucky enough to be provided with wide open spaces, enough to cater for the video & photo crew. And due to this spacious area we had the perfect opportunity to play around with the lighting capturing some great images. Gabrielle’s makeup was done beautifully, effortlessly enhancing her elegance, accompanied by her long dark hair she looked just like a real life princess alongside her beautiful little angel.

The chapel Jason & Gabrielle had chosen was stunning, with fairy tale like feel to it it couldn’t have suited the gorgeous couple more. The ceremony was short & sweet, before we knew it we were off to our picture locations.

We were lucky enough to go into the beautiful hinterland of Canberra, capturing the beauty of this Amazing place out in the open this made for excellent photography and videography. As we had a wide array of colours schemes to play with this made it especially fun for us to play with. What made this exit extra special was the vehicle’s used, & I’m sure you’ll get a sneak speak of these beauties by looking at our highlights video, or scrolling down to view the edited images below. 

We ended up going to an array of locations like, Botanical Gardens a renowned place known as The Centre for Australian National Biodiversity Research (CANBR) includes the Australian National Herbarium. These are jointly managed by CSIRO and the Director of National Parks with strong links to the Australian National Botanic Gardens. The Herbarium, with over 1.2 million specimens, is responsible for the scientific integrity of the Gardens' plant labelling & manages the national plant name lists for Australia's botanical community. We got to play with a lot of lighting at this location in particular & get a lot of group shots, as well as those intimate moments in between. 

The next location we went to was to the Old Parliament House, along the pavilion & gardens.  The Old Parliament House Gardens are located in the heart of the Parliamentary Zone on either side of Old Parliament House. The Gardens have been restored to their former glory, enhanced with the introduction of features such as seating pavilions, pergolas, rose arbours, pathways, gateways as well as the refurbishment of the tennis courts & bowling green.

Heading off to the reception area, on arrival we were greeted with the most respectable customer service at hotel Realm. This five Star Canberra wedding venue is the perfect reception for all places. At the destination’s precinct, we had restaurants, bars, hair salons & various other facilities have cemented us as a preferred locale for discerning Canberra’s and visitors. When the bride & groom finally arrived and were ready to make their entrance, they were granted with an applause worthy of an amazing couple!! The speeches from both sides of the both bride & groom shared were warm words of wisdom and love that you could really tell came straight from the heart. Before the formalities had been finalised, we were also presented with a speech from both the Jason & Gabrielle separately both expressing how devoted & involve they are to one another. Hearing just how much they truly loved one another brought a tear to not only my eyes, but the whole team.  

It’s a wonderful thing seeing this type of love come together, as it’s two families sharing a same goal, a great future, together. Jason & Gabrielle were a great couple to work with and so down to earth, from the shooting process, right down to the editing. We here at J’adore know they will continue to share more AMAZING moments throughout there lives just like they did on their wedding day & we are very thankful to have shared in this experience with them. 

 

 

 

St Christopher’s Cathedral, Canberra - Wedding

We always love going back to Canberra for weddings getting to explore more of this beautiful state is always a pleasure & as staying with the amazing parents of our first-ever Canberra wedding Matt & Margarita who over the years have become like family to us to the point we actually call them Mum & Dad.

We arrived at the Boy's nice & early ready to kick start this magical wedding. The boys helped Marko get into his suit with Dad close by to help by bringing out a bottle of Whisky he had been saving for this very moment, Marko's groomsmen were very happy & enjoyed the very expensive and smooth gift. As Mum comes in & starts fussing over her beautiful boy the family pulls him outside to have a drink to congratulate him on his stunning soon-to-be bride.

When we arrived for the bride prep Jessica had picked the Barton Room at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra, she had chosen this location because of the amazing floor-to-ceiling windows to let in amazing natural light for us photographers. Which might I add is one of our favourite things! Now that’s what I call thoughtful, & just to top it off she even had a mannequin for her dress which made for some breathtaking images. Jess didn't even mind when I went in and re-decorated her room by moving all the furniture around & out of the way so we could make the most of everything this stunning room & dress had to offer.

St Christopher’s Cathedral was absolutely amazing, we have shot there before for Daniel and Angela's wedding & as I remember was just as perfect. As the ceremony went through all the traditions & readings the beautiful catholic ceremony rich with tradition & hymns ended, and the church bells rang out as the couple left hand in hand filled with their bridal party & all their closest family & friends.

As the guest came up to the newly married couple you could see in the faces of their nearest & dearest that they where so happy for this beautiful couple & there were a few cracks from the mother of the bride & groom for them to hurry up & start getting that baby making underway which as you could imagine made this blushing bride blush a little harder.

For their photo section, we had plenty of time, long enough in fact to take a much-deserved lunch break for the bridal party & their high heal wearing feet. This also gave the newlywed couple time to let everything that just happened sink & appreciate this precious moment in time.

I have to admit what we did next was by far one of my favourite video moments of my career so far, getting to do the mannequin challenge in their beautiful room, We had ideas of what we should do for this great new video faze that had come out & after talking it through with the others we put our ideas into action. I’ve added the video below I hope you like our little viral sensation.

Reception starts & the formality kicks in, food comes out and the speeches begin with some amazingly funny, meaningful yet sweet words from their closest friends & family. To the point where a beautiful first dance by the newlyweds, is the perfect way to kick start a night full of dancing & celebration for the wonderful couples love, starting their first night at Mr & Mrs.

Newcastle Wedding Photography & Video, Weinmmannia & Talia

Hi all, I just wanted to start this one off by saying how appreciative I am being able to attend this wedding down in Newcastle. As previously…almost a year ago now, we got the privilege of working with Sila & Sarah on their big day, so we were extremely excited to catch up with the couple to see how everything was going along. But first we had a new Bride and Groom to be excited for, Sila's cousin Weinmmannia & his soon to be bride Talia were getting married at the beautiful Crowne Plaza Newcastle having their reception at the magical Fort Scratchley.

When we had arrived at the girl’s house, Talia was attending to her 2 beautiful children Cherish & Eddie while the girls took turns getting their hair and make up done. We got straight into setting up the dress, shoes & accessories, having 2 hours for getting ready shots was amazing for us. We love being able to take the time to get things as perfect as we can, priding ourselves in the quality of the work we do & provide to all of our couples.  The girls had a great time having a few drinks whilst getting their hair & make up done all morning, fussing over the beautiful bride & dancing around the living room with the 2 beautiful children.

The 5 bride’s maids wearing soft purple dresses, Talia with a gorgeous flower crown in her hair to match the bridesmaid dresses. The weather today was just perfect! A beautiful sunny day, it couldn’t get any better for this beautiful wedding. 

Mannia & the boy’s preparation went smoothly as well, jumping in the stretched hummer limo they began their journey to the ceremony. Mania celebrated & commemorated his family by wearing badges on his shirt of the people that have passed to keep them close by.

The ceremony was great to be apart of with a great balance of fun moments as well as a few emotional. The location was a great spot for wedding photography & video, the crew and I enjoyed the scenery a lot! especially on such a beautiful day it doesn’t get much better than this.

The beautiful wedding photos on top of the hill which made the dress blow out and looked amazing! This being where he first asked her out, looking over the ocean this was a very special moment in time for the both of them.

Moving onto the reception after entry we noticed a beautiful sunset outside so we quickly snuck them away for  a short while to get a little bit more footage & some effortlessly gorgeous photos.

At the reception the 5-layer cake as well as separate cakes for the people that had to get them by tradition the preast, both families of the bride & groom. The night was filled with fun on the dance floor, these guys really new how to party this made for some great atmosphere.

Braeside Wedding Photography & Videography Gold Coast

This is another one of J'adore’s favourite wedding venue's that we love. A wedding ceremony held in Braeside Chapel captures that nostalgic feeling as the vintage timber creates an air of simplicity to showcase some of the best country weddings. When ever we post one of our wedding Video or images from this venue to our facebook page there is always a big response. 

The Chapel seats 90 guests plus the bridal party, & lets not forget to mention it has its own audio system, which is great for the team at here if you're choosing to go with one of our videography packages, as there isn't much room left in the chapel we believe this is where a team like ours really helps as our photographers and videographers know exactly where to be & when. With different companies a space like this really can be difficult to work in as we often get in each other's way.

Braeside Chapel on the Gold coast is 15 minutes away from Surfers paradise & conveniently located 10 minutes away from Broadbeach. It's perfectly within distance to all major hotels for after the legalities. But why would you want to leave? 

The chapel is situated on the upper lawn and garden that's close to the large marquee for receptions. There are many photographic opportunities at Braeside venue, such as the games areas, the rustic old shed, the Southern Cross Windmill, just to name a few.

The large Marquee for receptions or any style or celebration, measures 15 x 12 metres and is fully lined. As you emerge into the reception area, it's lit up by two chandeliers at either end with the most attractive large chandelier being in the centre. Attached to the marquee is an additional tent measuring 6 x 3 metres, with lighting, electricity & water available for the use of your selected caterer. In front of the marquee is an area with seating and plenty of room for your guests to gather, relax & enjoy canapés as well as drinks from the nearby bar, whilst the bridal party completes their photos down on the lower lawn before joining their guests in the marquee.

The marquee will seat 120 at round tables that take up to 10 chairs.

We have been lucky enough to shoot lots including just wedding photography & just videography, but as mentioned it's always ideal when we can do our wedding photo & video combo at this amazing venue.

Engagement Photography & Video Gold Coast, Mount Tamborine

We love engagement photography & video, there’s just something about it. The excitement of the upcoming wedding you can really see just how much it shows in the photos, the raw emotion & love our couples have for each other. Which is personally what I enjoy the most about what I do, capturing those precious moments of pure love & happiness. Its what we al aspire to have right? Surrounding myself by this creates a wealth of genuine joy & happiness for each and every one of my couples.  It is a no pressure, fun situation which makes for some great images. generally, with an easy going atmosphere I like to make this as comfortable as I can for my Mr & Mrs to be.

 It is also the best way to get to know our couples, spend the afternoon laughing while at the same time getting comfortable in front of the camera with out even realising it. More often then not we here the male say that actually wasn't as bad as they had originally thought. We have included a selection of our couples for your viewing pleasure. We are open to any location but we have found a few that we really enjoy & feel that they are ideal for a shoot like this as they all have multiple options. The Spit is one of the Gold coasts most popular spots, with options looking both directions for sunrise and sunset overlooking the beach as well as the greenery inland. I also use this venue a lot for wedding photography and video as well.

Out next favourite spot is Tamborine Mountain Botanical Gardens, this is great for the couple that want to make a bit of a day of it and spend the day up at Mt Tamborine maybe have some lunch or visit a winery, Again the bonus of this spot is amazing gardens & so many different locations with different feels. I have been here several times now for weddings as well & I still find new spots I love every time I go.  

Our third & final is the Benowa Botanical Gardens this is also used as a wedding destination as well but is actually quiet enough to use as a regular spot, the lake is the highlight here with gardens & some interesting structures surrounding it. We suggest these 3 for our engagement clients as we know we will get at least 10 great different images from each spot.  

Engagement videos are only fairly new & they have dual purposes. I personally am going to be pushing more & more to do these as video is my primary passion as well as what I enjoy doing most here at J’adore. You can use as a build up to the wedding, tell people your love story of how you both met & the moment you both fell in love. Talk about how excited you are for the wedding & discuss some of the emotions that flow through you when thinking about the special wedding moments like walking down the isle.

St Bernards Hotel, Mt Tamborine Wedding Photography & Videography Ben & Rachel

A love like both Ben & Rach is something we all aspire to have, it's that warm love early in the morning, and waking up with their two beautiful children, that shows just how love is supposed to operate. 

Hi everyone, Rob here. Today’s blog is of great importance to me as its a wedding I hold very close to my heart. Not only was it a special day, but it was also one of the most important and significant days to one of my best mates Ben, I could not have thought of any better wedding gift then to be able to capture this moment of a life time and every moment in between for someone so near and dear to me. 

Onto of this I also got to work alongside another one of my best mates & amazing photographer Tim Smallman, Tim is our resident Melbourne Photographer but for this wedding in particular it was evident to me that he needed to become apart of the experience as well. Prior to the big day I had meet with Ben & Rachel at their chosen wedding venue - St Bernards hotel located in Mt Tamborine. I love getting the opportunity to have a thorough view of my clients chosen venue to discuss the possible positioning of all the precious moments we will soon be capturing, taking into consideration all of the different backgrounds we can utilise as well as getting them comfortable within that environment. 

Moving forward to the wedding day I meet with Ben, his best mate Luke, brother & soon to be brother in law Ryan. All the guys were getting themselves ready at Ben’s mum Anette’s house in Nerang. While the best man was doing some last minute ironing Timmy and I begun to take some images of the accessories as well as covering Ben putting his suit on whilst Luke was lending a hand. To Ben’s surprise, Rach had left him a small gift on the bed. As Ben opened the card he came to realise it was a signed wedding gift from all the Manly Sea Eagles football team (his favourite team), wishing him a happy wedding day you could see Ben’s hands start to tremble as his eyes filled with tears of love & joy. To see all of that beautiful emotion it was a reminder to us all of just how thoughtful Rach is, and as per usual this one this moment got me a little teary. 

Moving on to the beautiful Bride to be Rachel was getting prepared for her big day at St Bernards, which has a absolutely breathtaking view of the entire Gold Coast surrounded by beautiful rambling gardens providing me with endless image opportunities. With their elegant Grande Marquee or better known as the stylish Rafters Room accomodating anywhere from 20 to 200 guests I was already excited for all of the amazing photos I was about to have the opportunity to capture. Also on this beautiful property there was an awe-inspiring cottage, with wide open windows and an amazing indoor setting this is where Rachel, Bec, Melissa & Natasha began the unforgettable voyage of getting the gorgeous bride ready, her hair & make up was looked flawless the girls from VIP Bridal Beauty (Tennille and Liv) did a great job. Her dress was equally beautiful supplied by Bohemian Brides Miami and flowers by Matamata Home Florist.

Again, emotions were running high with a few special moments taking place, for example the moment the girls & her father laid eyes Rachel in her stunning dress for the first time they were all lost for words. Then her two handsome little men Jimmy & Henry arrived,  it took little Henry a while to work out that the beautiful princess before him was his mother, as its not every day the little man gets to see his gorgeous mother looking like Cinderella. 

Racing up to set the tripod up in preparation for the ceremony which was styled by Beautiful Weddings Gold Coast Hinterland, a multiple award winning wedding styling company specialising in creating dream wedding ceremonies & receptions and they didn't disappoint as it was Beautiful. It was great to see a few familiar faces while I set up multiple camera angles covering each view of emotion as well as my professional audio straight from the celebrants PA it was time for action.

I believe it is of great importance to get quality audio especially in an outdoor wedding such as this, with the wind surrounding us you really need to ensure your getting the audio straight from the celebrants microphone. 

The ceremony itself was extremely touching to all who attended, as well as those who have taken the time to view the wedding video itself. Firstly you will see the wedding celebrant announcing Ben’s two beautiful little men coming down the isle, turning to Ben you could see how high the emotions were running. Overwhelmed with the happiness & love of this very special day Ben for a slight moment turned away and by this point I already had tears in my eyes, then down came the gorgeous bride to be. 

As I approached Rachel & her father I realised she was crying to the point where for a brief moment they had to stop for a second. Seeing, feeling & breathing in this pure emotion it was safe to say by this point I was sobbing myself. 

I am so so grateful to be apart of these special moments, being able to capture the raw emotion bride, groom & everyone surrounding feels so deeply is something I take the time to appreciate significantly. 

Once we were all settled the ceremony went well with a great mixture of emotion & laughter. The celebrant was Sarah May Alexander, Civil Marriage Celebrant, who as she always does did a amazing job, she really is dedicated and you can tell that she loves what she does.  

Moving onto the photos section we had a lot of fun together creating images and capturing those moment they will never forget. The bridal crew were getting really involved and I love to see that, makes for a much better end result and an all over happier experience. Jimmy & Henry were also full in action with beaming smiles and an over flow of excitement ready to get in both the wedding photos & videos. We went through all the gardens at St Bernard's with the bridal party, finishing up with just our newly weds referring back to those locations we found in the initial meeting I had with the couple prior to the wedding. 

Straight into the reception we started with the bridal parties entrances all being announced as each pair came through, followed by speeches and then of course the amazing food starting promptly after this. The speeches were very heartwarming for me, seeing my good mates Nick & Luke giving the speech of a lifetime as well as Ben’s mum Anette it was very touching for me as well as everyone else in the room. 

Getting onto the first dance we got started, wasn’t long before the two little rock stars took over the dance floor putting on a show with some wild moves learnt from none other then father Ben. The DJ and photo booth where both a big hit as they where playing some of Ben's classic favorites like red hot chilli peppers aswell as Rach's popular stuff. The photo booth was always full and was a big hit, The great part about that is that it was actually the same company that supplied both All Star.  

A massive thank you to Ben & Rach for allowing me the pleasure of being apart of their special day.  Also a big thank you to Timmy for sharing his unique skills & passion for being an awesome photographer on this day. Ben & Rach have decided to get a wedding album which we worked very closely on to tell there story for the day that will be passed on for many generations to come. Highfields Cultural Centre Wedding Photography/Video Toowomba, Aaron & Nicole

The crew at J'adore had a massive day ahead with a 10-hour wedding package at Toowoomba, thus being our next exciting leg of the journey. We noticed the difference straight away, from the country music that changed when we were going up over the range, to the laid back nature that seemed to stem around the whole area, & we couldn't be more thrilled to be shooting here.

What was even better was the amazing temperature we were given throughout the whole day.  As we turned up a half an hour early at the groom’s house, we got right into the action of things by sorting out where Aaron would be getting ready as well as finding his tie & cuff links.

What we were lucky enough to discover upon talking to Aaron, is the fact that they both were childhood friends, growing up to eventually be two people who found love within each other; what was even better was the glint in his eyes as he talked so fondly of his childhood crush Nicole.

As Aaron was almost finished getting ready with his assemble of groomsmen, we knew that the next few stages was going to be a little emotional as Nicole had left a box with multiple gifts & a card.   

We couldn't help but almost cry ourselves as Aaron unwrapped his gift from Nicole, the emotional scene made excellent video & photo, as everything Aaron was feeling for Nicole was a raw feel of emotion breaking through. 

With both our ceremony & reception being at the same location to which was at the High fields Cultural Centre Toowoomba, the four of us were lucky enough to be able to store all of our extra camera gear in the reception room for later in the evening. The ceremony was an outside affair done under the treetop canopies, & as it was perfect weather for the occasion we couldn't be more excited to see what creativity we could come up with. As Nicole's bridesmaids turned up, each individual adjourned a different shade of both silver & pink. Nicole couldn't have looked more exquisite as she walked down the aisle.

Before we knew it we were venturing off to the photo section was at SpringBluff, this interesting set photo section had as getting some surprising yet awesome footage of an old freight train passing through as we ventured through the whole area, between finding an old barn shack that made for amazing sneaky fun photos/videos of the bridal party, to some more intimate 'dip' footage under the archway.
