Weddings At Tiffany's, Gold Coast Wedding Photography & Videography - Steven & Janina

Having met the couple previously we had a bit of an idea as to how the day was going to go. Turning up at Spicer's Retreat,  20 minutes away from the ceremony location. As there were three of us shooting all together between photo & video, we wanted to capture the best possible footage, so we opted for Steven to get ready outside. With the surreal sounds of Gardner fall breaking along the rocks just behind the cabin. Alongside Steven was his entourage of groomsmen and best friends all their that morning to provide a positive experience, right before the Groom was off to marry his bride to be.

After getting a few quick shots of the groom, we sprinted off to Janina's place, a cute cottage tucked away where her bridesmaids were helping her get ready.

One interesting thing about Janina's wedding dress & what it made is all the more special besides the fact that she was abut to marry the man of her dreams wearing it was the history behind it. This dress prior to Janina's big day has been worn by her family members which made it all the more special. In saying this, we can say for sure that she looked exquisite, Steven's jaw would be dropping to the floor the moment he see's his beautiful wife to be!

As we got to Wedding at Tiffanies in Maleny we were excited to be able to shoot a chapel ceremony. Tiffany’s Chapel offers you & your guests an unsurpassed, sweeping view to the magnificent Glasshouse Mountains & beyond to Brisbane & Moreton Island. Tiffany’s Chapel has been exquisitely & elegantly decorated in neutral tones with antique pews, chandeliers & polished hardwood timber flooring. Tiffany’s Chapel can seat 120 of your closest friends & family members in air conditioned comfort.  We were right,  As soon as Janina walked through those doors, we were sure to see Steven's heart stop, if only just for a moment. We love doing our job alone just to see these beautiful key moments in peoples lives.

Skipping ahead, we were lucky enough to have an awesome crew together for our photos sections, what was easier was the fact that the guests were close by so we were able to not only get some amazing intimate moments for Steven and Janina, including the bridal party, but we also. Between getting the car and chapel photo to the swing set challenge that made for some AMAZING footage, we were left with soo many wonderful options at the end.

The first thing you noticed when you walked through those reception doors overlooking the Maleny hinterland with exquisite views was the sweet smell of caramel that just infiltrated the whole reception area. We had a large number of guests trickling in, all people that influenced and shaped Steven & Janina's life in some way, so it was excellent that the catering service provided ample room for us to place the tripods in place before the speeches started. Looking back at the speeches, they were all so wonderful, one that mainly stood out along all of the others was Nina's little brothers speech, between the humour.

The night continued to move along, as the cake was cut and served, and their first dance as a married couple was conducted. Everyone came out onto the dance floor to show the camera a few of their moves, and it was a sure tale sign that Steven & Nina were having an Amazing night!

We can only hope our love for capturing your wedding both with photography, and videography has been shown through these images.

Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Ceremony & Lakelands Reception - Adrian & Melissa - Gold Coast Wedding Video

We love shooting at the Intercontinental on the Gold Coast, as we are avidly familiar around the whole venue we are well aware of all the best spots for the photo's section. This was exciting for us as we got to be apart of another wedding at the beautiful Sanctuary Cove chapel. The gorgeous non-denominational chapel features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Coomera River, featuring a mezzanine floor for unique photography opportunities. Designed for privacy from the rest of the resort, the chapel also offers cushioned pew seating for 80 guests, an ornate pipe organ, glass-topped registry table, & a white marble aisle.

We readily turned up at the glass chapel, videography gear in hand ready to start the day. As we quickly set up the tripods, while also checking to make sure the audio was in check, we decided to get some more detailed shots of the chapel for the couple’s video, as it's always great to have and look back on.

The chapel quickly filled up, which meant the beautiful bride was going to be arriving very soon, we were excited to see what the ceremony had in store for us all. After some personal vows that had some tears glistening with many of the guests, we were outside conducting a butterfly ceremony in honour of Melisa's sister that had passed. This beautiful butterfly releasing tradition. Releasing butterflies at weddings has also become a popular new tradition. It is an environmentally friendly alternative to rice, confetti & balloons … which is a beautiful way to celebrate your union!

As we used the Intercontinental to our advantage we got to use some of the best spots available throughout the whole venue including the reflection pool. We eventually left to go to the LakeLands Golf Course for the beautiful reception.  After some very heartfelt speeches, everyone got right into music & the dancing begun, very positive we left the night on a high. We wish Adrian & Melisa their very best in their newly married life!!

Perfect Wedding Cake: There Is Always a Choice!

An important part of any wedding ceremony, either in Brisbane, Paris or Los Angeles, is a beautiful wedding cake. It is a symbol of prosperity that came to us from ancient times when bride and groom had to share a piece of their fortune and happiness with every welcomed guest.

But is it that easy to choose the right one, and not to get lost between latest trends, mom’s suggestions, and own desires? Let’s take a look at the most common dilemma that you may face while making you choice.

Traditional or Alternative Wedding Cake

Tradition is something that really matters, especially if you are planning to have a classical style wedding. In this case, we imagine a multiple layers white cake, covered with cream and frosting, and ornamented with the marzipan figures of newlyweds on top. It tastes sweet, like strawberry vanilla and chocolate, and is decorated with jewels, shells, and flowers. The traditional cake will always be in fashion as a part of long lasting wedding custom.

Although, there is an alternative. Depending on your wedding theme or how extraordinary you want to look, you can use a range of nontraditional cake ideas. Maybe you want to offer your guests a plate with wedding pancakes or a meringue cake? More popularity is being gained by old-fashioned fruit pies, creative colorful doughnuts, and even cake pops. By the way, have you ever tried a cake on a stick?

Wedding Cake or Cupcakes

If the ritual of cutting the cake, feeding your beloved one with the best piece, and saving the top tier for your first anniversary means a lot to you, your choice is definitely not cupcakes. Especially, if your family and guests are of a conservative kind and all of them are waiting for the “real” cake from the very beginning of the party.

But in case you are a risky one, you can save a little money and order wedding cupcakes. And here you can have as many tastes and designs as you want. Guests also can pick their favorite flavors and eat them even before the official cake-time. And you don’t have to worry about offending your dear aunt by giving her too small piece of the cake – all cupcakes are the same size, isn’t it perfects? Just keep in mind that your cupcake display has to be really good, as it substitutes a very important part of the wedding tradition – the wedding cake…

Fondant or Buttercream

What is more important in the wedding cake, its taste or design? Most of the brides will definitely choose a design as an illustration of the couple’s distinctness. This is why flawless porcelain look created with fondant icing is so highly appreciated by most newlyweds. Fondant makes the design options nearly endless. Moreover, your cake will withstand strong heat or windy weather of the outdoor events, and preserve the moist of the dough keeping it fresh for hours.

Hence, not everyone likes the taste of the fondant. Some people prefer soft and tender buttercream frosting, never-ending classic. Made from butter, sugar, and cream, it can take a flavor of your favorite chocolate or citrus zest. Buttercream is also good for a decoration; although it is not that sophisticated as fondant, but it is definitely less expensive and easily affordable.

On the other hand, why to choose between two, if you can combine both? Buttercream can be used for a taste and fondant serves perfectly for the decoration on top!

Which of these cakes will you choose for your Gold Coast Wedding? To tell you a secret, any choice will be the right one, as wedding cake is meant to reflect your own tastes and personal style, as well as symbolize long years of prosperity in the newborn family. Just remember to hire your personal Gold Coast wedding photographer to depict every moment of your happy celebration of love!
