Gold Coast Beach Wedding Video & Photography at Pacific Life Saving Club

I meet up with Chris and Shell a few months before the wedding and felt a great connection with them straight away, when they told me they where going to wear traditional kilts for the day that got me even more excited, We where also doing photo and video for this one with Dwayne and Timmy doing photos to compliment my video.

The day started with us heading to shells place to get do the images and video of the girls getting ready, I love the images and video from this part of the day we had a great backdrop and a fun group of girls.

Tim and I headed of to see they boys, who where gearing up for a big day and with a mix of Scottish and Irish all wearing there traditional kilts and some characters amongst the group I knew it was going to me a entertaining morning and rest of the day for that matter.

After spending a bit of time with the lads I heading back to see the ladies quickly before the ceremony, It was a great mix of tradition and culture packed full of emotion, love and laughter. They really are a amazing couple it is easy to feel the bond between Chris and Shell.

We decided to head down the beach with the bridal party with a esky and we had so much fun which you can see in the long version, Its amazing how since we brought the gimbal to assist us with our videos exactly how much amazing footage there is it really is so hard to decide which footage makes the highlights.

We had a lot of fun at Currumbin surf life saving club which is a nice venue with lots of room and overlooking the water. We even managed to quickly sneak our couple out around sunset as they had a early ceremony which gave us the chance to create some more amazing images. Lots of dancing and fun to finish the night.

Shell and Chris where so excited when they received there images and when I recently gave them the link for there video. I have put some of our favourite images and a link to both videos included.

Samson & Monica contacted me at the start of the year about doing there wedding video, They loved my previous work and after a quick chat they booked me in to collaborate with there photographer Sam who they had already booked. I often have this situation where the photographer has already been booked and I come in for video. So I touched base with Sam, later we meet with the clients at the Lakelands which was the venue for the walk around, she also ended up coming to shoot another wedding with me which I mentioned in Jason & Kadeen's Blog.

Meet the J'adore Team - Matt

Where do I start? I have been lucky enough to grow up on the beautiful Gold Coast. I have also been a lucky enough document love stories through the use of sound and motion pictures.

My love for film began in my modeling days when I was a teenager, ever since then I have always been interested to get behind the lens. After playing with my best mates camera for a few months I bought my own. After graduating from Bond University my passion for film became stronger and this landed me jobs around Australia and overseas in Bali working along side my best mate.

My love for shooting weddings began shortly after I graduated when Rob asked me to film for a wedding he was photography. Being the youngest in the team it is my job to create a modern cinematic wedding video that makes you cry, laugh and everything in between. There is nothing more amazing then documenting a love story that a couple with treasure forever.

Why am I a photographer & Why do I shoot weddings?

My grandfather recently passed away, I had spent alot of time and have a lot of great memories of him. What was interesting is that those memories had faded and where more bits and pieces. It was amazing to see how looking at photos brought those memories back to life almost like I was there, although unfortunately there where not to many images like this.

My family put together a slideshow for the funeral which got me thinking even more in a way these pictures and the memories that go with them are a lot of what he has left behind.

I realised that this is what I capture for a living, a lot of the images throughout the slideshow where at weddings, as it brings all the family together for a happy fun celebration. So then I thought what is the difference between me and other photographers or any person with the camera phone. The answer came to me straight away I approach each image with this in mind, To capture that moment for eternity, the essence, the character, the emotion. I want people to look at my photos and be taken right back to that moment. I use the tools the I have learnt to enhance these moments lighting, depth of field etc, but none of that matters with out the emotion.

The topic of connection with the client has been discussed with the team recently and I don't think there is a right or wrong answer, but when I look at my images I think its obvious to see which ones I have had a great connection with, So I then thought what does it take for me to get that connection, I realised it really doesn't take a lot,

The way I feel and approach things is obvious when I start talking about weddings and love and photography or video. So its a simple case of a phone call here and there to let them know that I am thinking about them and that I cherish there special day just as much as they do.

Finally I want to touch a bit on video and my thoughts on it, I remember when I made my first wedding video sitting behind the camera with a tear in my eye as they where a great couple and there vows where very touching. Then again when watching the footage on my computer a tear came to my eye, I thought to myself wow this is powerful stuff, Then receiving the feedback that a lot of other people where brought to tears, then a few minutes later to laughter.

I realised this is taking what I had previously done with photos to the next level. It means the world to me to be a part of these amazing days, I get so excited each time I get a new inquiry. I really can't believe how lucky I am to get to travel Australia doing wedding photography and video. With weddings booked in Melbourne Sydney, Adelaide, Perth,Gold Coast, Brisbane, Canberra, Airlie Beach, Cairns the list really does go on, next is a dream to shoot overseas!!

Thank you so much for reading, I would love to know if you have had a similar experience.

Meet the J'adore Team - Tim

Melbourne born and bred and a Melbourne lover. I've been shooting for a number of years now, primarily focusing on landscape photography. I began assisting some great wedding photographers and fell in love with shooting weddings. There's nothing quite like seeing the emotion captured at a wedding. It's raw. It's real. It's beautiful. I love the thrill of it. Being there to capture precious memories that will last the ages, is not just something I enjoy doing, it's something I LOVE! I'm a storyteller at heart. I focus on the details while capturing the important moments, and I like to have fun doing it! My friendly nature makes having me at your wedding an enjoyable experience. I really enjoy trying new things with wedding photography and like to step out of the box to create something unique, so let's be creative!
